There will be a members meeting May 15th at 7:00 pm which includes a vote for the direction of funding the building. All members should have received an email or letter this week. Additional copies are available at the information table. All are welcome to attend.
Sports Camp registration forms are in your family’s green folder at the back of the church. Please fill them out and turn in to Pastor Jeff in the foyer if you would like your child to attend. Deadline for registering is June 20th. Volunteers can sign up in the foyer.
Terrific Tuesday is a fun time of fellowship in the summer for those entering 3rd through 5th grade. Pick up the summer schedule and registration forms in the rotating rack in the foyer. Completed forms can be placed in the slot below in the rack. See Pastor Jeff for more details.
Special Needs:
We have a family in the church needing some help to get on their feet. Tim & RaeJean Lepird will be heading up the collection and will have a tub/box in the foyer that you can place donations in this weekend and next. Items needed: Men’s size 32/34 pants, XL t-shirts, XL polo shirts; women’s size 14 pants, L shirts; girl’s size 10/12 pants and small junior sized shirts.
Kim Slattery will be moving in Ankeny May 31st and could use some strong arms. If you can help, please call Kim at 371-9703.
Thanks for your flexibility and patience as we move through this transitional time for parking! We want to reserve the spaces next to the entrance for handicap and elderly parking. If you want to drop off elderly, pregnant moms, or moms with very small children, please pull under the canopy and swing back around to exit to Linden and then to our south driveway to the parking lot.
Discovery 1 & 2: Discovery 1 is an opportunity for newcomers to meet with Pastor Larry and learn more about our church. It is held every second Sunday of the month (June 8) from 10:30—11:45 am. Discovery 2 is for those interested in placing their membership here at Ankeny Free Church. It is held every third Sunday of the month (May 18) from 10:30 - 11:45 am. Sign up on the tear-off form of the bulletin if you would like to attend.
Pastor John’s sermons are now available in Podcast format at www.ankenyfreechurch.org. Now you can take Pastor John with you wherever you go! Pastor John will be speaking from I Peter 5 next weekend—Humility.
Join Pastor John at Java Joe’s Coffeehouse, 214 4th St, Des Moines, on Sunday nights from 6:00—7:00 pm during the month of May. He will be answering questions such as “When were angels created?”, “Are there guardian angels?”, “Do angels appear to people today?”, etc. This is a new ministry to help reach those downtown. We will not be meeting at Java Joes Sunday night, May 11th.
Ladies: Save the date for our Precepts study of the book of Hosea on Wednesdays from 9:30—11:30 am July 2 through July 30 with childcare provided. The facilitator is Carol Bowman. OR
“Vision of His Glory,” a Revelation study, by Ann Graham Lotz is being held on Wednesday, 10:00 am—12:00 pm through June 11th with childcare. Sign up on the tear off form if you would like to attend either of these studies.

Promotion weekend is June 7th & 8th. Those students currently in kindergarten through 4th grade will advance to their next class. Fifth graders will begin attending Jr High Bible study on Sunday at 9:40 am and Jr High youth group at 5:30 pm. See Pastor Jeff if you have any questions.
Parents of kids in Truth Tree House and Faith Factory—Each week we will have a question in the “Where & When” section of the bulletin for you to follow up with your child regarding their lesson. What a great opportunity to reinforce their lesson and to hear what they are learning!
Join the SummerFest Celebration Choir on July 13th at the 8:30 am community service held at the Northview stadium. One practice will be held at ACA on July 9th from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. If you are interested, sign up on the tear off form.

The Junior High Youth Group is collecting bars of soap, wash cloths, toothpaste, candy bars, etc. to hand out to the homeless during our Mission Trip to Omaha at the end of May. If you would like to help us collect these items, please bring your donations and put them in the box located in the foyer over the next few weeks. Thanks!
Congratulations to Curtis & Sarah Carroll on the birth of Maggie Marie on May 4th. She is 7 lb 3 oz and 19 3/4” tall.
We would like to thank our church family for all of the prayers, concern, and words of encouragement during Tim's recent stay in the hospital. The surgery and placement of the stint went well and he looks forward to a full recovery. Surely, he will be as ornery as ever. Thank you also to Pastor Jeff and Pastor John for their visits while Tim was in the hospital. Tim, Rae Jean, Jeremiah, Erin, Joshua, and Jordyn Lepird
