Welcome to the Ankeny Free Church family.  Here’s some pertinent information you’ll find helpful.   You may also click on each heading to find additional information regarding the subject on the web site.

•  Where is the “south” office:
  Pastor John and Pastor Larry’s offices are located at 106 SW Linden St, Suite B.  It is one block south of 1^st street on Linden.  You may park in the back lot.  The office entrance is on the southwest corner.  Go in the door and it is the first door on the left.  Unless you are headed to a meeting there, please call ahead of time so that you do not interrupt any meetings.  Click on the address to display a map.
   

• “You’ve Got Mail” – where is it?
  Each family has a “green folder” located at the back of the sanctuary.  You will find things like nursery worker schedules, end-of-the-year giving statements, personal notes from a secret sister or staff member, etc.  Don’t forget to check it once in a while.
   

• Ministry schedules
  You will find a magazine rack in the foyer that holds a schedule for most all of the ministry events along with newsletters from the missionaries we support.  Help yourself!
   

• Free Devotionals
  “Our Daily Bread” and “Men of Integrity” are free devotionals available at the welcome center.  Help yourself!
   

• How do I join a community group?
  At the back of the sanctuary there is a table for community group sign-up.  Stop by and fill out the postcard with the day of the week that works best for you.  Pastor Larry will get you started.
   

• How do I get involved in a ministry?
  Each week in the bulletin there is a tear off section of ministries in which you might be interested.  Simply fill it out and place in the offering.  The ministry leader will contact you that week.
   

• What is my next step?
  We encourage all newcomers to attend Discovery 1.  Pastor Larry explains our beliefs and ministries at AFC and helps you find a place to fit in.  It meets every second Sunday of the month at 10:30 am at the “south” office.  Call the office or email Brenda@ankenyfree.org if you would like to attend.
   

• My child has a runny nose.  Can I take them to the nursery?
  Our nursery is an “Illness-Free Zone,” therefore children exhibiting the following symptoms are not allowed in the nursery: runny nose with discolored drainage (clear is permissible), a fresh cold with frequent sneezing or coughing, sore throat, fever, diarrhea, and vomiting in the last 24 hours.
   

• "How do I enroll my child into the nursery?" 
  After your child has come to the nursery three times in two months, you will be given a copy of the Nursery Handbook, a letter from the Nursery Committee, and an enrollment form. Once the parent fills out the enrollment form the baby is given a permanent nametag and is added to our permanent sign-in sheet.

  In the foyer you will find a flyer with a short biography for each of the      elders.  The elder board consists of the following individuals:

• How do I make an appointment with one of the pastors?
  Since our pastoral staff is in multiple locations with varying schedules, the best way is to email them with your request.  If that is not convenient, simply call the church office at 964-3870 and we will get you in touch with a pastor.
