A burning desire to help leaders of youth in small and rural communities is what led Todd Stiles to officially begin the Youth Leader Connection in October 1998. However, long before the concept was fleshed out with a name, Todd was building strong youth volunteers by publishing weekly and monthly tips for youth leaders, as well as conducting seminars in various states, expanding his role as a trainer of other leaders. Items such as Strategy, the YLC’s newsletter, and LeadershipLINK, the e-mail tip sheet, became staples with many leaders. Sensing little by little that God was leading him to devote his full attention to the growth and operation of the YLC, Todd made preparations for a smooth transition from his full-time job to President and Founder of Youth Leader Connection. In that role, Todd now oversees the vision and staff of YLC as the team specializes in training volunteers in smaller communities and rural areas.
