Distinctives (What Happens In A Community Group?)

What happens in a typical Community Group meeting?

Most groups meet for 1 1/2 - 2 hours weekly.  That time almost always includes the following in some form or another.

Bible Study - either a book of the Bible, or some sort of Bible-based study.

Prayer - group members keep prayer logs, noting specific prayer requests from group members, praying for each other throughout the week, and celebrating God's answers.

Discipleship Training - group members are encouraged, through practicing spiritual disciplines, to pursue and take into their life the character of Jesus Christ.

Share - group members are regularly invited to share how God has been working in their lives.  It's a safe place to share.

Care - true "community" means exhibiting the "one anothers" of Scripture toward each other.

Bridge Building/Outreach Training - training in how to share your life and faith with people in your sphere of influence and accountability for opportunities to do so.
